Economic Development Assistance Program Funding (EDAP2013) – Loans and grants

The U.S. Dept of Commerce Economic Development Administration’s (EDA) leads the Federal economic development agenda by promoting innovation and competitiveness, and preparing American regions for economic growth/success in the world economy. EDA does this through strategic investments and partnerships that create the regional economic ecosystems required to foster globally competitive regions throughout the USA. EDA supports development in economically distressed areas of the United States by fostering job creation and attracting private investment.

USDA Farm to School Grant Program

The purpose of this grant program is to assist eligible entities in implementing farm to school programs that improve access to local foods in eligible schools by connecting schools with local or regional producers in order to serve these foods in school cafeterias. On an annual basis, USDA will award up to $5 million in competitive grants for training, supporting operations, planning, purchasing equipment, developing school gardens, developing partnerships, and implementing farm to school programs.

CalTrans Transportation Planning Grants FY 2013/14

The Division of Transportation Planning is now accepting applications for six specific programs in this solicitation:

Community-Based Transportation Planning  $3M grant cap $300,000

• Statewide or Urban Transit Planning Studies   $1.5M cap $300,000

AB 118 AQIP Advanced Technology Demonstration Projects Grant

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) announced their Air Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) Zero-Emission Off-Road Equipment Grant Solicitation for up to $1,000,000 for up to five independent Advanced Technology Demonstration Projects. It is open to California based public agencies such air district, ports, state or local government entities or agencies with expertise implementing demonstration programs and the requisite knowledge of off-road equipment. All work must be completed by May 30, 2015.

Advanced Natural Gas Engine R&D for Class 3 through 7 Applications

This is a competitive grant solicitation sponsored by the California Energy Commission's Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) Program's Transportation Subject Area. The purpose of this solicitation is to accelerate research and development of advanced natural gas engine concepts for application in light heavy-duty vehicles (LHDV) and medium heavy-duty vehicles (MHDV) operated in fleets throughout California.
