California Energy Commission: $78.7 Million Available in School Bus Replacement Program Grants GFO-1


The California Energy Commission announces the availability of up to $78.7 million in grant funds for the replacement of the oldest school buses in California through the CEC's School Bus Replacement Program for California Public School Districts and County Offices of Education, GFO-17-607.

Additionally, the Energy Commission’s Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program (ARFVTP) announces the availability of up to $13 million in grant funds for electric vehicle infrastructure and $2.4 million in grant funds for compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling infrastructure for the replacement school buses.

Funding is available for public school districts and county offices of education that operate the oldest buses in California.

Priority consideration will be given to school buses that operate in a disadvantaged community and public school districts and county offices of education that had a majority of students eligible for free or reduced-price meals as reported in the 2017-18 First Principal Apportionment (P-1) .

Deadline to Submit Applications is September 20, 2018 by 5:00 p.m. via the Grant Solicitation System.
