The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in collaboration with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy have announced a resource to help communities respond to opioid misuse and develop resilience in rural communities. The Rural Resource Guide to Help Communities Address Substance Use Disorder and Opioid Misuse is a collection of federal funding and partnership opportunities across multiple agencies in the federal government. The document is organized by 26 subject areas to help users quickly identify funding opportunities in the areas that are most relevant to them.
At GMA, we know from speaking to many people that the opioid epidemic is common area of interest. Subject areas in this document that may be useful for public media include education, employment, health/wellness, parenting/family and youth.
