New funding from the CA Energy Commission - Cost Reductions, Advanced Technology for Solar Modules (
The purpose of this solicitation is to fund applied research and development projects that will catalyze recently achieved advancements in materials science and manufacturing processes for thin-film photovoltaics (PV) technologies to support scaling and establishment of new high value market applications.
Funded projects will address the strategic initiative 4.1.1 “Advance the Material Science, Manufacturing Process, and In-Situ Maintenance of Thin-film PV Technologies” identified in the EPIC 2018-2020 Triennial Investment Plan and result in improved performance and reliability of thin-film PVs, higher throughput of existing manufacturing processes, reduced production costs, and adoption of DER technologies in Caifornia. Projects must fall within the following project groups:
· Group 1: Conventional Thin-film Photovoltaics; and
· Group 2: Emerging Thin-film Photovoltaics.
