California Flexible Load Research and Deployment Hub


The California Energy Commission (CEC) announces an upcoming solicitation under the Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) program. This solicitation focuses on establishing a California Flexible Load Research and Deployment Hub. The vision is for the hub to include experts in academia, government, and the private sector to conduct research that increases use of flexible building loads as a reliable and cost-effective grid resource and facilitates integration of renewable resources. Successful hub proposals will demonstrate strong leadership and a clear vision to develop and deploy affordable technologies and strategies equitably to help achieve California’s aggressive carbon reduction goals and increase grid flexibility.

Anticipated Total Funds Available:$16 million

AnticipatedSolicitation Release Date: December 2019 to January 2020
