Overview: This is a competitive grant solicitation. The California Energy Commission’s (Energy Commission’s) Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program (ARFVTP) announces the availability of up to $1,845,079 in grant funds for a competition that will challenge project teams to accelerate the deployment of electrified transportation within the local and regional levels with a holistic and futuristic view of regional transportation planning. This solicitation is for Phase I of an expected two phase effort for electric vehicle (EV) ready communities. Phase I is for the development of the planning blueprints to identify the actions and milestones needed to proceed towards implementation of the EV ready community. Successful applicants under this solicitation will have the opportunity to submit their completed blueprints to compete for and receive future funding under Phase II for implementation of their completed blueprints.
Eligibility: This solicitation is open to all public and private entities. Applicants must gather a multidisciplinary team. Project teams must include one or more local city, county government, or organizations connected to city or county governments, such as joint power authorities, council of governments, and housing authorities that have a role in the development process. Other recommended team members include, but are not limited to: nonprofit entities, grassroots community organizations, environmental and environmental justice organizations, individuals that represent neighborhoods and/or communities, local workforce development agencies, building developers, property managers, real estate agents, technology vendors, researchers, utilities, and financiers.
