The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has released the 2018 Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Action Plan for public comment beginning July 8, 2020.
This Action Plan outlines how the state proposes to program the $1,017,399,000 of CDBG-DR funds, allocated by HUD as a result of the federally declared disasters that began in July and November of 2018:
FEMA DR-4382 July 23 - September 19, 2018 wildfires and high winds: River, Ranch (Mendocino Complex), and Carr Fires.
FEMA DR-4407 November 8 - November 25, 2018 wildfires: Camp, Woolsey Fires.
The Action Plan outlines single-family, multi-family (including small-rental), and workforce development programs. These include specific program and jurisdictional allocations and methods of distribution.
Please note: Disaster Recovery funding for multifamily projects is not available statewide; but, rather only through local governments in the towns, cities, and counties most impacted by the 2018 wildfires.
Who should attend the webinar?
HCD is hosting a virtual meeting for the affordable housing development community (developers, property managers, supportive service providers, etc.).
This targeted session allows for discussion of programmatic, regulatory and compliance requirements that are of interest to the affordable housing development community.
