$105.5M in funding for projects that address the affordability, flexibility, and performance of solar technologies
April 26, 2018
Last week, the U.S. Department of Energy announced $105.5M in funding for about 70 projects that address the affordability, flexibility, and performance of solar technologies on the grid. This funding opportunity spans the office’s portfolio and will fund early-stage research projects that advance both solar photovoltaic (PV) and concentrating solar power (CSP) technologies and will facilitate the swift integration of these technologies into the nation’s electricity grid. The funding opportunity will also support efforts that prepare the workforce for the solar industry’s future needs and address technology transfer challenge.
To help researchers learn more about the funding opportunity, the office has released a technical background document and hosted four webinars April 23-24 discussing each of the FOA’s topics. View the webinar transcript and PowerPoint presentations from the systems integration, CSP, PV, and workforce topics.
