Seeking Your Input on Grants for Renewable Energy on Agriculture Operations
October 19, 2018
The California Energy Commission plans to offer grants later this year that will fund the installation of renewable energy projects on agricultural operations. This new program is called the Renewable Energy for Agriculture Program (REAP) and we anticipate the grants will fund projects such as the installation of solar and wind systems and certain equipment served by these systems. Your comments on the Draft Guidelines for the REAP will help shape the structure of the program and other eligibility criteria prior to the adoption of final guidelines. The Final REAP Program Guidelines will be the basis for the program solicitation which we plan to release before the end of the year, and will guide the development of the application for funding, invoicing procedures, and other program requirements.
The Energy Commission is asking YOU to review the REAP Draft Guidelines, Second Version staff report, available on the Energy Commission's website at http://www.energy.ca.gov/renewables/18-MISC-03/documents/ and provide comments via the Commission’s electronic commenting system at https://efiling.energy.ca.gov/Ecomment/Ecomment.aspx?docketnumber=18-MISC-03.
Written comments may also be submitted by emailing them
to the Docket Unit at email@example.com. Please include the docket number 18-MISC-03 and REAP Draft Guidelines in the subject line.
All comments must be received by 5:00pm on October 22, 2018, to ensure they are considered as staff develop the Final REAP Guidelines.
We also encourage you to sign up for our email list serve to receive updates on the REAP as they occur. To sign up, please visit http://www.energy.ca.gov/renewables/18- MISC-03/.
