Supporting and Improving Rural EMS Needs (SIREN) Act

Deadline: TBD – Law Signed December 2018 Amount: Up to $200,000 Match: 10% Eligibility: Local government, tribal governments, EMS agencies, nonprofit EMS agencies serving rural areas (Population of 50,000 or less) Details are still being developed. More information on SIREN Act Bill:

Signed into law in December 2018, the new Supporting and Improving Rural EMS Needs (SIREN) Act will help rural areas procure equipment, training, personnel recruitment and retention. Funds can be used to train/educate personnel, obtain/maintain licenses and certifications, acquire EMS equipment (including PPE), recruit and retain personnel, or develop new methods for educating emergency health care providers through the use of technology. Individual awards will be capped at $200,000 and grantees will be required to put up a 10 percent local match. Agencies will apply directly to the federal program.
