The Agricultural Land Mitigation Program (ALMP) provides grant funding for the purchase of agricultural conservation easements on farmland within Fresno, Madera, Merced, Kern, Kings, or Tulare counties. All applicants that were interested in submitting an application were required to submit a pre-proposal by the July 22, 2019 deadline to be considered for funding. Applicants who submitted a pre-proposal will receive written feedback on their project from the Department. If you now find that you need assistance with your full proposal application, please feel free to contact us for assistance.
Interested landowners must partner with an eligible applicant, such as a land trust, city, county, resource conservation district, or regional park or open-space district. The farmland must contain predominately Prime Farmland, Farmland of Statewide Importance, Farmland of Local Importance, and Unique Farmland, as identified by the Department of Conservation's Farmland Mapping and Monitoring Program. Grants will be awarded to cover up to 100 percent of the value of the agricultural conservation easement.
