$s on the Affordable Housing front

Federal funding expires on September 30th, everyone is working to advance FY20 spending bills.

 

A number of critical affordable housing and community development programs are funded through Housing and Urban Development (THUD), Agriculture-FDA, and Financial Services General Government (FSGG) - Rejecting the cuts in Trump's budget, most received level funding with FY19, these include:

  • $1.25 billion for the HOME Investment Partnership Program, level with FY19 enacted numbers and $500 million below the House’s proposal.

  •  

  • $3.3 billion for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), level with FY19 enacted numbers and is $300 million below the House’s proposal.

  •  

  • $23.833 billion for Housing Choice Vouchers, $1.235 billion over FY19 and $23 million over the House’s bill. 

  •  

  • $12.56 billion for Project-Based Rental Assistance, $813 million over FY19 and $30 million below the House’s bill.

  •  

  • $35 million for the Section 4 Capacity Building for Affordable Housing and Community Development Program, even with FY19 and $5 million below the House’s proposed FY20 funding.  

  •  

  • $40 million for Section 515 Rental Housing Direct Loans, even with FY19 and $5 million below House numbers. 

  •  

  • $12.144 million for 515 Rental Housing Direct subsidies and grants, $2.66 million above FY19 and $1.518 million below House numbers.  

  •  

  • $251 million for the CDFI fund, $1 million above FY19 and $49 million below the House levels. 

We hope that the Administration finalizes FY20 appropriations legislation as soon as possible.
