Dialogues on the Experience of War - This NEH program, which awards up to $100,000, supports discussion programs with veterans, service members and scholars on humanities sources about war. Deadline: October 15, 2019.
Coming Home: Connecting to Community - This new CPB initiative will support authentic, local storytelling about life in rural America. Deadline: October 25, 2019.
Advancing Informal STEM Learning - This NSF program grants funds between $28 million and $38 million for STEM education projects that use new approaches to reach a broader audience. Deadline: November 6, 2019.
Discovery Research K-12 - NSF's Discovery Research K-12 program seeks to enable advances in student and teacher learning of the STEM disciplines. Deadline: November 13, 2019.
Native American Native Hawaiian Museum Services - This IMLS program will award up to $1,472,000 to support projects that sustain Native American/Native Hawaiian cultural heritage through various activities. Deadline: November 15, 2019.
Museums for America - IMLS' largest grant program for museums, totaling over $19.9 million. It supports projects and activities that build museums' capacities to serve their communities. Deadline: November 15, 2019.
National Leadership Grants for Museums - Through this program, total funding at $6.5 million, IMLS funds projects that advance the ability of museums to preserve culture, heritage and knowledge. Deadline: November 15, 2019.
African-American Civil Rights: Preservation and History Grants - This National Park Service grant supports projects that document, preserve and interpret significant sites in the history of African-American civil rights. Deadline: December 3, 2019.
Collaborative Research Grants - This NEH competition will make awards up to $250,000 for research projects with an emphasis on disseminating findings to scholarly and public audiences. Deadline: December 4, 2019.
Save America's Treasures - This National Park Service program provides grants for preservation and conservation work on nationally significant historic properties and collections. Deadline: December 10, 2019.
Preservation Assistance Grants for Smaller Institutions - Provides up to $6,000 to help small institutions improve their ability to preserve and care for their significant humanities collections. Deadline: January 15, 2020.
Access to Historical Records: Major Initiatives - This NARA program supports archival projects that promote public discovery and use of archival resources. The Major Initiatives competition is currently open. Preliminary proposals are due by January 16, 2020.
Higher Education Challenge Grants Program - USDA will award $4.5 million across projects aimed at improving education at the postsecondary level to strengthen the nation's food and agricultural workforce. Deadline: March 23, 2020.
Bay-Watershed Education and Training Program - The Bay-Watershed Education and Training program from NOAA provides funding for locally relevant experiential environmental education. The California, Gulf of Mexico and Hawaii programs are currently open. Program details and deadlines vary regionally.
