Summary

Overview: Assembly Bill (SB) 1808 appropriated $13,274,000 to establish the Community Engagement Initiative (CEI) which is to convene professional learning networks for purposes of improving local pupil outcomes and community engagement. The CEI will also develop and conduct a statewide training on community engagement. The CEI will be co-administered by the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE) and a lead agency to be selected by the State Department of Education and the CCEE.

 

Eligibility: Local educational agencies

 

Required Eligibility Criteria: Be able to demonstrate the: (1) expertise with the state priorities, (2) expertise with forging effective community engagement practices to support conversations among all stakeholders and local educational agency staff that focus on improving outcomes for pupils, and (3) ability to coordinate and calibrate assistance and support to school districts.

 

Eligible Grade Level(s): Pre-K, K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12

Eligible Age Level(s): 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18
