Opening Summary
OPENING SUMMARY — WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 7 – 11, 2026
Energy / Rural Generation and Storage: USDA RUS Powering Affordable Reliable Technology (PART) Energy Program (RUS-PART-2026) — roughly $410 million in budget authority supporting loans of $1,000,000–$100,000,000 with up to 40% forgiveness, for hydropower, geothermal, biomass, and storage serving majority-rural areas. Loan, not a grant.
Letters of Interest due 11:59 a.m. ET, October 9, 2026 — reviewed on a rolling basis in the order received, so earlier is better.
Agriculture / Value-Added: USDA RBCS Agriculture Innovation Center Demonstration Program (RBCS-2026-AIC), $2,500,000 across roughly 3 awards, $600,000–$1,000,000; one-third match required. Due January 31, 2027, submitted by email rather than Grants.gov.
Agriculture / Seafood Processing: USDA RBCS Meat and Poultry Processing Expansion Program Phase 3, Round 2 — Invasive, Wild-Caught Catfish (RD-RBS-26-03-MPPEP), $6,000,000 across roughly 6 awards, $50,000 to the lesser of $2,000,000 or 80% of project cost; 20% cost share. Due December 7, 2026. No rural-area requirement; applicant must already process seafood commercially and its state must have an invasive-species plan that names catfish.
California State Opportunities: CalRecycle Legacy Disposal Site Abatement Partial Grant (SWC 109) — $1,500,000, up to $750,000 per applicant, 50% match, public entities only. Due September 16, 2026 — one week after posting.
