A wide variety of organizations have the ability to access federal, state, corporate or private foundation grants, including nonprofits, start-ups, established companies, educational institutions and various other governmental entities. The landscape for grants is broad, with opportunities in technology, health care, energy, education, security, agriculture and other sectors. But, to be successful in accessing grant funds, it is essential to understand the critical factors that come into play when funders evaluate grant proposals and make decisions. In this workshop, you will learn about important considerations you should factor into your decision whether to pursue a grant and in development of a solid grant funding proposal.

Kristin Cooper Carter MA, CSDP - Kristin has a B.A. in Organizational Communication from CA University, and a Master’s Degree in Program Evaluation and Administration from California State University, Chico. She has over twenty five years’ experience as a technical writer and project manager. She is the founder of Grant Management Associates, a California-based firm that specializes in funding identification, grant development, business management and strategic planning. Kristin is a former professor at CSU’s College of Engineering, where she founded the CIM program and served as the Director of Environmental Programs. She is well versed in working with green tech start-ups, focusing on business development and strategic alliances.
