CA SGC: Transformative Climate Communities Round 4 Workshops Announced

The California Strategic Growth Council (SGC) will post the Transformative Climate Communities Program (TCC) Round 4 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) on the SGC website on March 8, 2022. The Round 4 Final Guidelines have been posted to the TCC website. SGC will host Application Workshops on March 11 and March 18.

Application Workshop Details:

  • All audiences (register here): March 11, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

  • Unincorporated Communities and Rural Communities (register here): March 18, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.

  • Tribal Communities (attendance limited to tribes and tribal-serving organizations - register here): March 18, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.

All three workshops will cover the same material but will be tailored to different audiences. Everyone is invited to attend a workshop regardless of whether they anticipate pursuing a TCC application in Round 4. Recordings of the workshops will be posted on SGC’s YouTube channel.

A total of $106.2 million will be available for TCC Implementation and Planning Grants. Application technical assistance will be provided (see timeline below for more information).

The updated Guidelines expand eligibility to disadvantaged unincorporated communities, California Native American Tribes, and the top 25 percent of disadvantaged communities per CalEnviroScreen. In addition, the guidelines include new fundable strategies such as microgrids, brownfields redevelopment, and indoor air pollution mitigation, as well as a strengthened priority around localized air pollution reduction.
