The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) is pleased to announce the release of the CalHome Program Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for approximately $57 million.


Please visit the CalHome webpage for application materials. Submittal instructions and application portal will be available beginning September 8, 2020.

Applications are due October 29, 2020 by 11:59 p.m.

This funding is from the Affordable Housing Bond Act Trust Fund of 2018 and provides grants to local public agencies or nonprofits to assist individual households through deferred-payment loans. Activities include: first-time homebuyer mortgage assistance, owner-occupied rehabilitation (including reconstruction and rehabilitation of manufactured homes not on a permanent foundation), technical assistance for self-help housing projects and shared housing programs, accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and junior accessory dwelling units (JADUs) assistance (including construction, repair, reconstruction, or rehabilitation), and homeownership development projects.
