Description:

The California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing, and Efficiency Program (CalSHAPE) provides funding to upgrade heating, air conditioning, and ventilation (HVAC) systems in public schools and replaces noncompliant plumbing fixtures and appliances that fail to meet water efficiency standards.


The CalSHAPE Ventilation Program is one of two grant programs under the CalSHAPE Program, established by Assembly Bill (AB) 841 (Ting, Chapter 372, Statutes of 2020). The CalSHAPE Ventilation Program provides Assessment and Maintenance (A&M) Grants to local educational agencies (LEAs), as defined in Section 1601 of the Public Utilities Code (PUC), to assess, maintain,

and repair ventilation systems in schools. The CalSHAPE Ventilation Program also offers U&R Grants to LEAs to repair, upgrade, and replace HVAC or ventilation systems at sites that have completed an A&M Grant project.
