Description:

The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) administers a program to provide opportunities to increase the number of small-scale composting programs supporting green spaces. This effort will also increase local composting capacity while expanding community knowledge about the benefits of compost use and proper composting techniques.


This cycle of the grant program is focused on assisting Qualifying Tribal Entities to create or expand existing community composting sites on lands owned, managed, or stewarded by tribal community members.


Eligible grant projects include the creation, improvement, or expansion of community composting sites to increase composting of organics and reduce generation of methane from organic waste decomposing in landfills.


Eligibility:

Eligible applicants include Qualifying Tribal Entities.
