CEC - RFI concerning US DOT Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program

The California Energy Commission (CEC) is seeking information regarding projects for possible submission under the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program (CFI Program). The CEC, in collaboration with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), intends to be the lead applicant for the CFI’s Alternative Fuel Corridor Grants category. The CEC is seeking project ideas and considerations for projects that support fueling infrastructure deployment for zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty (MD/HD) vehicles. CEC and Caltrans are evaluating electric vehicle charging and hydrogen refueling options. The CEC intends to submit one or two applications to deploy both electric vehicle and hydrogen vehicle infrastructure to support MD/HD vehicles along state corridors. Applications are due to the federal government by May 30, 2023. Therefore, responses and comments to the CEC are due by no later than April 13.
