Opportunity Title:
SBIR Partnering Platform
Funder/Agency:
DOE
Description:
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of SBIR/STTR programs has released its SBIR Partnering Platform. The public, self-supporting platform, which is free to use, facilitates partnering between DOE small business applicants and awardees and various industry stakeholders (i.e., investors, service providers, utilities, etc.) in their representative ecosystems. Using keywords and AI, innovators are able to find and connect with partners to conduct R&D during their award as well as to assist them with commercialization of their DOE SBIR/STTR funded technologies. The platform also enables partners to investigate vetted technologies developed with DOE SBIR/STTR funding and connect with the associated innovators.
Partners play a critical role in transitioning advanced technologies from SBIR/STTR funded programs to the commercial market. Historically, small businesses are 50% more likely to successfully commercialize the technology if they begin building partnerships early – during development; pre-productization. Partnering with an SBIR/STTR funded small business provides you with immediate access to innovative, advanced technologies that have already been vetted having been through a competitive award process. These companies have received at least $1M in Phase II SBIR/STTR funding to continue development of technology that was proven feasible during Phase I.
