Just Released: No Place Like Home program Amended 2020 Guidelines

The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) is pleased to announce the release of the Amended 2020 Guidelines, Round 3 Competitive Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA), and Amended Noncompetitive NOFA the for the No Place Like Home (NPLH) program.

Round 3 Guidelines and NOFA

Changes to the Amended 2020 Guidelines include:

  • An added summary of public comments and responses

  • The ability for Alternative Process Counties to disperse Capitalized Operating Subsidy Reserve as grants

  • And more


Applications for the Round 3 Competitive NOFA are due January 19, 2021

Amended 2018 Noncompetitive NOFA

Changes to the Amended Noncompetitive NOFA include:

  • An addition of an extension application request form for projects proposing the use of noncompetitive allocation funds

  • The amendments from the amended guidelines

  • And more

Background: The No Place Like Home program provides funding for the development of permanent supportive rental housing for people living with a serious mental illness who are homeless, chronically homeless, or at-risk of chronic homelessness. The funds may be used to acquire, design, construct, rehabilitate, or preserve permanent supportive housing, which may include a capitalized operating subsidy reserve.
