The main goal of the workshop is to gather feedback from stakeholders to inform the development of funding options for the CEC’s Recovery and Reinvestment Initiative. The workshop will begin with two short presentations discussing overall guiding principles for use of the Recovery and Reinvestment Initiative funding, as well as anticipated opportunities within the area of workforce development. The remainder of the workshop provides an opportunity for public comment on the guiding principles for this initiative, as well as suggestions for project types to be considered for funding. 2 A detailed meeting agenda will be posted prior to the workshop on the event page

In September 2020, the CEC approved the 2020-2023 Clean Transportation Program Investment Plan Update (https://efiling.energy.ca.gov/getdocument.aspx?tn=235807). The investment plan calls for $10 million in funds to be dedicated to “recovery and reinvestment” in light of the COVID19 crisis. Along with Clean Transportation Program general priorities, additional guiding principles for the funds are as follows:
• Speed of deployment
• Equity (including funds prioritized for communities most impacted by COVID-19)
• Job Creation
• Economic Development In alignment with standard Clean Transportation Program processes, CEC staff intend to gather information from stakeholders to inform the future process for the distribution of these funds.
