Description:
CALSTART will host a remote-access public workshop to discuss and receive feedback on a draft solicitation concept for PowerForward. PowerForward is a California Energy Commission-funded $25 million zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) battery manufacturing block grant designed to 1) attract and retain ZEV battery manufacturing in California, 2) directly and indirectly create high-quality jobs, 3) create positive economic impacts that benefit local communities and priority populations, and 4) contribute to California’s goal of zero-emission transportation.
The purpose of the workshop is to:
Present draft design concepts for a ZEV battery manufacturing solicitation.
Seek feedback on the design of the solicitation.
Seek feedback on the solicitation, application, evaluation criteria, and grant agreement implementation processes.
Invite discussion of any funding sources that may complement the PowerForward grants.
Discuss solicitation design elements including, but not limited to:
Award distribution scenarios, such as size and timing of grants;
Match funding requirements; and
Eligibility requirements.
Inform potential grant applicants of concurrent external funding or loan opportunities that may be available.
