The Clean Energy Fund (CEF) Research, Development and Demonstration (RD&D) program funds projects that engage in strategic research and development of new and emerging clean energy technologies. These technologies provide opportunities for economic development and support the state’s climate goals.
In the 2021-2023 budget, Commerce received $5 million to develop a competitive RD&D solicitation under CEF5. This Request for Information (RFI) will inform development of that solicitation, which is scheduled to open in July 2023.
About this RFI
Responses to this short, online RFI will help them consider key program design elements, including but not limited to:
Which technologies and project phases should be eligible under the program
How to ensure the program aligns with federal funding opportunities
How to design the program to maximize potential benefits to overburdened communities and vulnerable populations
They will review submissions and use the feedback to inform the program design of the CEF5 RD&D Request for Applications. We may contact respondents to ask clarifying questions as needed.
This short online RFI should take no more than 20 minutes to complete. We encourage you to submit your responses as soon as possible. Responding to this RFI is not a requirement to apply to the forthcoming RD&D solicitation.
