Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A)



Description:

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) establishes the new Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) discretionary program that will provide $5-6 billion in grants over the next 5 years. Funding supports regional, local, and Tribal initiatives through grants to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries.

The SS4A program supports Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg’s National Roadway Safety Strategy and a goal of zero deaths and serious injuries on our nation’s roadways.

The Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Safe Streets and Roads for All grants is not yet posted. The NOFO is anticipated to be released in spring of 2022. Once the NOFO is posted, interested parties may apply for grants.



Eligibility:

Metropolitan planning organizations; Counties, cities, towns, other special districts that are subdivisions of a State, and transit agencies; Federally recognized Tribal governments; and Multijurisdictional groups comprised of the above entities.



Total Amount Available:

$6,000,000



Anticipated Release Date:

Spring of 2022
