Description:
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Texas Emissions Reduction Plan (TERP) is now accepting applications for the Alternative Fueling Facilities Program (AFFP). A total of $12 million in grants are available to construct or reconstruct fueling facilities that provide natural gas and other alternative fuels, including electric charging infrastructure, within the Clean Transportation Zone. At least $4 million of the available grant funding is reserved for small businesses.
Eligible fuels include:
compressed natural gas (CNG) and/or liquified natural gas (LNG)
hydrogen
biodiesel or biodiesel blends (at least 20% by volume)
propane
electricity
methanol (at least 85% by volume)
Grants are available to award up to:
$400,000 for a CNG or LNG project.
$600,000 for a project combining CNG and LNG.
50% of the total eligible project cost (with a maximum of $600,000) for fuels other than natural gas like electricity.
AFFP grant funding is awarded on a competitive basis with proposed facility location among the items considered.
