Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund - Zero-Emission Freight and Marine Program.

Opportunity Title:

Zero-Emission Freight and Marine Program Solicitation

Description:

The ZEFM Program will fund projects that accomplish one or more of the following:

• Scrap and replace heavy-lift forklifts, port cargo handling equipment, airport ground support equipment, or marine engine in ferry, tugboats and towboats with new, commercially available, zero-emission technologies, or

• Install shore power systems for oceangoing vessel at port terminals.

By funding cost-effective, zero-emission projects and awarding at least 75 percent of funding to projects that reduce emissions in California’s disadvantaged and low-income communities, 4 the ZEFM program seeks to maximize NOx reductions and benefits. This document describes eligibility criteria, program requirements, available funding, the application and evaluation process, and the award of Trust funds. At its sole discretion, the VW Administrator reserves the right to modify this solicitation and its aspects.
