Description:
A competitive solicitation for electric charging infrastructure to support on-road vehicles, off-road equipment, marine vessels, and locomotives is now open. Up to $35 million is available for the installation of new - or the expansion of - public and non-publicly accessible electric chargers and infrastructure.
Funding is for the installation and operation of permanent electric infrastructure that will spur the adoption of zero-emission vehicles and equipment in the Bay Area, expedite air quality improvements and the transition to zero-emission in Priority Communities, and be placed into service by early 2027.
Eligible project types include publicly and non-publicly accessible electric charging infrastructure that supports the following:
On-road vehicles over 8,500 lbs. in gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), transit buses, and school buses
Off-road equipment, such as:
Agricultural tractors and equipment
Construction equipment
Transportation Refrigeration Units
Forklifts
Cargo Handling Equipment
Ground Support Equipment
Other applicable off-road equipment
Locomotives and Marine equipment
