Infill Infrastructure Grant Program of 2019 (IIG-2019)
Description:
The objective of the IIG Program is to promote infill housing development by providing financial assistance for Capital Improvement Projects that are an integral part of, or necessary to facilitate the development of, a Qualifying Infill Project or a Qualifying Infill Area.
Under the Program, grants are available as gap funding for infrastructure improvements necessary for specific residential or mixed-use infill development projects or areas.
For Qualifying Infill Area applications from Large Jurisdictions, funding will be allocated through a competitive process, based on the merits of the individual applications.
For Qualifying Infill Project and Qualifying Infill Area applications from Small Jurisdictions, funding will be allocated through an over-the-counter process.
Eligibility:
Eligible Applicants means one of the following:
(1) A city, county, city and county, or public housing authority that has jurisdiction over a Qualifying Infill Area. “Public housing authority” may include a Tribally Designated Housing Entity; or
(2) A nonprofit or for-profit Developer of a Qualifying Infill Project that has received a letter of support from the governing body of the city, county, or city and county that has jurisdiction over a Qualifying Infill Project. For purposes of this paragraph, “governing body” means a city council or a board of supervisors of a county or city and county. A nonprofit or for-profit Developer may include a Tribally Designated Housing Entity that is the Developer of a Qualifying Infill Project.

Application Deadline:
Small jurisdictions (QIAs and QIPs): Over-the-counter applications accepted August 25, 2022 through September 22, 2022 by 4pm. Awards will be announced ongoing.
Large jurisdictions (QIAs only): Applications are due August 25, 2022 by 4pm. Awards will be announced December 2022.
