The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to seek information from industry, investors, developers, academia, research laboratories, government agencies, tribal governments, potentially impacted communities, and other stakeholders on various questions regarding the regional assessment and development of critical mineral supply chains from unconventional and secondary feedstocks. Such effort would consider environmental justice, the ongoing energy transition, and impacts on tribal lands and other communities. Information on concepts, processes, configurations, and systems related to the following comments and questions are requested. While FECM/NETL’s preference is that respondents address all numbered items below, responses that address only a subset of the questions would still be helpful and are welcomed. For the purposes of this RFI, “critical minerals” is defined by Executive Order 138171 dated December 20, 2017.
