Achievement of the energy, environmental, and climate justice objectives of the Climate Act will require all communities to be actively engaged in the clean energy transition, including disadvantaged communities that have traditionally faced barriers to participating in or otherwise benefitting from New York’s clean energy economy. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is seeking qualified organizations, in the Mohawk Valley economic development region in the state, to serve as the Mohawk Valley Regional Clean Energy Hub. The proposer must be prepared to provide uninterrupted services for the program period. This organization will play an instrumental role in engaging disadvantaged communities to ensure they have access to, and benefit from, the clean energy economy. They will provide a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that all Mohawk Valley communities have equal access to the benefits of the State’s clean energy transition. These benefits include energy saving programs for their homes and businesses that can lower monthly expenses and improve overall well-being, renewable energy options that reduce reliance on fossil fuels, job opportunities in the growing clean energy economy, and more.
