TRB Automated Road Transportation Symposium Listening Session on July 18-21, 2022.
Automated Road Transportation Symposium (ARTS)
Now in its 11th year, the international Automated Road Transportation Symposium (ARTS) convenes global thought leaders from the industry, government and research communities to collaborate on the opportunities and challenges associated with automating road transportation. ARTS22 will focus on how research can best enable progress in the next 18-24 months on critical policy, operations and safety topics such as: freight, transit and passenger vehicle commercialization, safety and security assurance, sustainability & climate; digital and physical infrastructure; and defining and encoding legislation and policy for AV use. Conversations will take place in-person during three days of Plenary conversations and 20 interactive “deep-dive” Breakout sessions.
It is produced by a group of ~200 TRB volunteers, experts in their field, who dedicate themselves to creating balanced agendas that help to inform attendees about ongoing research, business developments, public agency investments and operations, and policy formation. Every year, the ARTS program comprises a timely mix of influential plenary speakers and breakout sessions to provide local, national, and international perspectives on AV policy and practice. This year’s agenda addresses safety assurance, business developments, roadway operations, human factors, public acceptance, trucking, transit, legislative and regulatory affairs, and more.
