The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) has released its fiscal year 2023-24 research solicitation. The projects included in the solicitation support CARB’s regulatory priorities related to health, environmental justice, economics, air pollution, and climate change. The selection of these projects was guided by the Triennial Strategic Research Plan for funding years 2021-2024 and the public comment and concept collection survey administered in Spring of 2022.
CARB will host a solicitation workshop at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 19, 2023. At this workshop, staff will provide an overview of the solicitation requirements, project details, and be available to answer questions. Development of Health Analysis Methodology for Natural and Working Lands Management Scenarios ($550,000)
Impacts of Multiple Climate Change Stressors on Health in California ($500,000)
Air Toxic Pollutants Associated Cancer Health Monetization Research ($500,000)
Understanding the Air Quality Impacts of Wildfires and Prescribed Burns in Urban Environments of California ($600,000)

May 22, 2023 - Pre-proposals must be submitted by email to research@arb.ca.gov before 5PM PST.
June 14, 2023 - All pre-proposal submitters will be notified of the status of their submission.
