Announcing the First Floating Offshore Wind Shot Summit

Please join the Departments of Energy, Interior, Commerce, and Transportation for the first ever Floating Offshore Wind Shot™ Summit on February 22nd and 23rd, 2023. This event will virtually convene policymakers, experts, community leaders, and innovators to discuss the Floating Offshore Wind Shot, an ambitious initiative to reduce the cost of floating offshore wind energy by at least 70% by 2035.

Floating offshore wind represents two-thirds of our nation’s offshore wind potential. Responsible development and deployment of this emerging technology presents a major opportunity to power millions of American homes with clean energy, create quality jobs, and establish U.S. leadership in a growing sector.

Fully realizing this opportunity, however, will require unprecedented collaboration between federal and state governments, local communities, tribes, and the private sector. The Floating Offshore Wind Shot Summit will bring key parties together to lay out a shared vision of wide-scale floating offshore wind energy deployment and dive into the technical, social, equity, and environmental challenges and opportunities it presents.

Confirmed speakers include U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm and U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland.
