TCEQ is Now Accepting Applications under the Governmental Alternative Fuel Fleet Program

The Governmental Alternative Fuel Fleet (GAFF) Program will be providing an estimated $3.9 million in grant funding to help government entities purchase or lease new vehicles that operate primarily on compressed natural gas, liquified natural gas, liquified petroleum gas (propane), hydrogen fuel cells, or electricity.

Eligible applicants include:

  • state agencies,

  • counties,

  • municipalities,

  • school districts,

  • junior college districts,

  • river authorities,

  • water districts or other special districts, or

  • other political subdivisions that own and operate a fleet of more than 15 motor vehicles.

Eligible applicants may also include a mass transit or school transportation provider or other public entity established to provide public or school transportation services.
