Open Solicitations:

Research, Education & Technology:

This NOFO contains multiple topics on research projects for critically needed measurement services, tools, and instrumentation; innovative manufacturing metrologies; novel assurance and provenance technologies and advanced metrology research and development (R&D) testbeds to help secure U.S. leadership in the global semiconductor industry.

The NSF Regional Innovation Engines (NSF Engines) program creates regional-scale, technology-driven, inclusive innovation ecosystems throughout the United States by accelerating key technologies, addressing regional, national, societal, and/or geostrategic challenges, driving economic growth, creating and retaining quality jobs, expanding equitable pathways into careers, and strengthening national competitiveness and security.

This NOFO seeks proposals from eligible applicants for activities to establish and operate a CHIPS Manufacturing USA Institute focused on digital twins with integrated physical assets and computational capabilities (digital assets) to tackle important semiconductor-industry manufacturing challenges.

The NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) Program seeks proposals that explore ways for graduate students in research-based master’s and doctoral degree programs to develop the skills, knowledge, and competencies needed to pursue a range of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers.

Energy & Environment:

This program provides guaranteed loan financing and grant funding to agricultural producers and rural small businesses for renewable energy systems or to make energy efficiency improvements. Agricultural producers may also apply for new energy efficient equipment and new system loans for agricultural production and processing.

U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) is designed to incentivize innovators to develop models and algorithms that can provide accurate and real-time information about distributed solar generation in electric power distribution networks.

The carbon dioxide transportation infrastructure finance and innovation (CIFIA) program was appropriated $2.1 billion to provide federal government financing to large-scale common-carrier carbon dioxide (“CO2”) transportation infrastructure projects.

Transportation:

As required by Federal public transportation law, funds will be awarded competitively to designated recipients or eligible direct recipients of Urbanized Area Formula funds to support capital projects to improve existing passenger ferry service, establish new ferry service, and repair and modernize ferry boats, terminals, and related facilities and equipment.

ELEF makes funding available competitively to assist in the financing of capital projects for the purchase of electric or low-emitting ferry vessels that reduce emissions by using alternative fuels or on-board energy storage systems and related charging infrastructure to reduce emissions or produce zero onboard emissions under normal operation.

Community Development:

The research and development (R&D) activities to be funded under this FOA will support the government-wide approach to the climate crisis by driving the innovation that can lead to the deployment of clean energy technologies, which are critical for climate protection.

HUD's TCTA program helps local governments address pressing housing needs by identifying land for housing development near transportation projects; developing preservation and anti-displacement strategies; identifying and implementing reforms to reduce barriers to location-efficient housing; and improving coordination and supporting a holistic approach to housing and transportation.

The purpose of the Substance Use Prevention Education in the WIC Program project grant is to develop trainings and resources to assist State and local agency WIC staff when addressing substance use prevention and referrals with WIC participants.

Request(s) for Information:

The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to understand the off-road sector alternative propulsion technology preferences, which technologies seem most promising, and what are the key barriers to achieving the transition to net-zero emissions by 2050.

A tri-state partnership of Washington, Oregon, and California is seeking information to support potential zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty corridor charging projects.

Forecasted Opportunities:

The selected Carbon Capture, Removal, and Conversion Testing Center(s) would test individual or integrated carbon capture, removal, and conversion technologies to prove their technical merit, reduce technical risks, and accelerate the demonstration and eventual commercial deployment of a suite of carbon management technologies and processes.
