Purpose: The Tobacco-Use Prevention Education County Technical Assistance Funds provide funding to county offices of education to provide leadership, administrative oversight, training, and technical assistance (TA) to all local educational agencies (LEAs) in the county. TA focuses on: tobacco-free school policies, support to LEAs on tobacco-use prevention education and instruction, staff professional development, family and community engagement, interagency partnerships, cessation support and referrals, and program assessment. A portion of TA funds are to be directed to identifying and reducing disparities among disparate youth populations.
